I just heard about Sproutbuilder.com from Peter Deitz’ write-up, which includes a brief tutorial video. I don’t usually get excited about techno-gadgets but this one looks fantastic. It gives anyone the ability to create a ”Sprout”, a mini-website – with text, photos, video, and a “donate now” feature — that can be copied and pasted anywhere on the web. What’s amazing is that any changes to the original Sprout are automatically made to each of those copies. So now, in addition to having a regular website (or maybe instead of having one?), any organization can create and distribute these mini sites and have up-to-the-minute, immediately accessible information in front of an unlimited audience all of the time.
Sprouts are still in beta testing, but you can leave an email address on their website and be notified when they’re open to the public.

Christine,
Thanks for the mention of sprout. Here is a private beta for you and your readers:

We do not ask you to create an account until you save or publish a sprout, so have fun and join us only if you like what you see!

Thanks, Carnet — I really looking forward to trying that out and will be sure to share feedback as it comes together!
